Meet Our <span class="interior">Board</span>

We are here to provide your sons and daughters with the best youth soccer experience possible! We are proud to bring you a group of accomplished business professionals and dedicated volunteers that will put our players in the best position to succeed.  Read the bios below to learn more about your board of directors.

  Mike Pastore

President ( [email protected] )

Mike Pastore has been involved with The Beautiful Game for 30 years. His playing career started at age nine with AYSO in Altoona. When the Altoona Soccer Club was created, he was on their first roster. He continued playing with the Altoona Soccer Club in PA West through high school. As a born and bred defender, he was also invited to play Division II soccer with the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. In college, he increased his flexibility with the game and put in considerable time playing in the midfield and forward positions. He finished his college career as a two year letterman with 13 goals and 19 assists.

Mike’s coaching career started at Cambria Heights Middle School where he coached for one year. When his children decided that they wanted to play soccer, Mike decided that he wanted to coach his children. He coached their teams in Altoona AYSO and in the Altoona Soccer Club. While he was a coach for his children’s teams, he was joined the coaching staff as an Assistant Coach for the Penn State Altoona Women’s Soccer Team at the Division III level beginning in the summer of 2010. He has since been coaching youth soccer with Hurricanes Soccer Club with a division 4 and 3 team.

<VACANT>

The Vice President generally helps the President with his/her duties and can act in his/her stead if the
President is absent. The duties include, but are not limited to…
- Consulting with the board on all matters that involve obligation of a significant amount of Club
resources. This would include entering into contracts and the use of fields, staff, volunteers or
Club assets.
- Enforcing Club policies in daily operations. Exceptions to Club policies must be cleared with the
Board. Any and all rules in place by US Soccer, PA West and the Mountain District must be
followed.
- Make a good faith effort to attend all Board meetings and will be asked to periodically report on
Club operations and on the overall health of the Club.
- In a situation when the President is not available, the VP can schedule regular board meetings,
create an Agenda for those meetings and keep meetings on task.
- Be available to be consulted on decisions that affect any aspect of the Club and be available to
help educate Club members on policies, procedures and/or decisions of the Board.
- Always have the best interests of the Hollidaysburg Soccer Association, its players, coaches and
assets in mind when making decisions that affect the Club.

If any interested people want to apply, they must send a list of qualifications and a cover letter to President Mike Pastore at [email protected].  The deadline for applying for the positions will be Tuesday April 30, 2019.  At that point, we will take 30 days to review all applicants and vote on the new positions at a board meeting at the end of May or beginning of June.

 
 
Rick Madara

Field Director ( [email protected] )

Rick Madara was elected to the HSA board in 2008 as the Field Maintenance Supervisor.  In 2010 Rick was elected as Board President and still holds that position along with his field duties.  Rick is currently the Sales Manager for McLanahan Corporation.  He has an Electrical Engineering Degree from Penn State University.  Rick and his wife Kara reside in Duncansville, PA with their two children, Kyler, 17 and Hannah, 15. Kyler and Hannah both started playing soccer in the AYSO program.  Rick was a volunteer coach for all of their AYSO teams. Hannah continues to play soccer and is a current member of the HSA Krew U16 travel team.  Rick currently coaches the HSA Krew team, which he began forming in 2009.  Ranked as high fifth in the state, the ‘Krew’ girls have had much success over the last 5 years.  Rick has played soccer most of his life, been coaching since 1993, officiated PIAA High School matches, and currently has his USSF Grade 8 certificate.  Rick currently has his PA West ‘D’ license, and holds a Level 4 National Soccer Coaching Association of America certificate.  Rick has been the Hollidaysburg Senior High School Assistant Soccer Coach since 2009.  Rick has dedicated much of his time to our local soccer program in various facets. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends, doing outside projects, and maintaining an active life style.   

 Terri Johnson

Oversees and maintains the financial budgets for the organization.  This includes ensuring the organization is compliant with state and federal guidelines as a non-profit.  Additionally, prepares financial reports for the board of directors or top executives.

  Dave Teeter

Referee Administrator ( [email protected] )

Dave was voted on the board in 2001 in  which he has served as many positions.  Most recent is referee administrator.  Dave is married to Heidi Teeter and they have a daughter Olivia Teeter.  Dave has been involved with area soccer for many years as a coach and a referee; his referee experience spans 8 years and he currently holds a referee's Grade 8 USSF license.  Additionally, Dave also has been a registered PIAA official for 4 years.  He has officiated high school matches in PA and tournament competition at Edinboro University.  Dave enjoy spending time outdoors with his family and he works for local AMED Authority with certifications in CPR, AED first aid. He leads an active life style and he attends Foot of Ten Bible Church. Dave is also very active in his community.

Equipment Manager

The Equipment Manager is responsible to ensure that the coaches have the equipment necessary to
properly conduct practices and execute game day activities. The duties include, but are not limited to…
- Purchase and distribute necessary equipment including soccer balls, pinnies, and first aid kits.
- Administer player uniform ordering through soccer.com including selecting current uniform and
uploading rosters into their website.

  Randy Trexler

Coaching Coordinator ( [email protected] )

Randy Trexler was elected in August 2013. He is a software engineer for the Veteran Affairs Office of General Counsel which meets the legal needs of the United States Dept of Veterans Affairs. A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Randy holds a B.S. in Science with emphasis in Computational Mathematics.  Randy and his wife Rhonda reside in Martinsburg, PA with four children all of which play soccer at all levels from Premier down to recreational.  Randy helped organize soccer in the Spring Cove Area School District and served as the first Spring Cove Jr High Boys Coach (2010-2012) and Central High School's first Varsity Boys Soccer coach (2012-present).  Randy currently holds a coaching E-License.  He is a member at the Memorial Church of Brethren in Martinsburg, PA.
